Let us all share our least favorite chores (and, yes, this post is actually about housekeeping). Personally, I hate sweeping and mopping more than anything. More often than not, I feel as if I am simply pushing dirt around on the floor. I am currently on the market for an effective hardwood/tile vacuum - just a little one that is only used on the hardwood/tile, I will keep my regular one for the carpets - so if you have any recommendations, help a sister out! Fortunately for me, the hubs is a master floor cleaner it would seem. I don't really know his secret, perhaps it is related to patience, I know not, but he is much better at it than me.
I don't much mind cleaning the bathrooms (even as a kid I didn't mind this chore, weird right?), but I do hate when I can't quite clean a bathtub to my particular liking. Particularly that pesky soap scum. Fortunately, I have found the golden ticket to soap scum removal! Note: this is not a sponsored post in any way shape or form. I mean let's be honest, we have three followers, who is sponsoring our posts? No one. So, back to my point. After years of applying much elbow grease to get a shiny tub, I have found my bathtub savior - a lethal combination of KABOOM! and Mr. Clean Magic Erasers Bathroom Scrubbers. I kid not, I do not remember the last time our bathtub looked so clean (okay, I lie - it was when we moved in 9 months ago, but still), and it was so easy! Just spray on KABOOM!, wait 2-3 minutes, wipe off with Magic Eraser! Ta-Da! In all fairness, I didn't try the KABOOM! by itself, and feel pretty confident in saying that any Magic Eraser would probably work, but, I am never looking back!
Do you have any particularly helpful housekeeping tips to share? Please to share!

A Guest Bathroom Fit for a...Guest
Do y'all remember waaaaayyy back in April when we teased you with details concerning our "home improvement" projects? Well, 3 1/2 months seems like as good a time as any to provide an update, complete with pictures! I promise it in no way, shape, or form took us this long to get the darn bathroom painted. It did however, take some time for me to find just the perfect accessories, and who wants to see a halfway finished final project? No one? That's what I thought.
I have to admit, I never would have seen myself choosing the shower curtain/accessories that we chose, but, as soon as I saw it in the store, I knew it would be perfect. It tied in the whole theme, and had exactly the perfect colors. Luckily, Harris was sold too, so there wasn't even deliberation to be had! Overall, we are very pleased with how things turned out! We have had two sets of guests since it has been finished (my folks, and then my sister and friends), but we would love more, so please come use our guest bath!

In love with this shower curtain! It is part of the Kate Spade collection from Bed Bath & Beyond.
Don't y'all love this?! It is a paddle towel hook (4 different hooks)! All credit goes to Harris for this idea. We found a shop on Etsy that makes them!
Love the accessories in this collection!

I needed something to go over the toilet. We found this (also at Bed Bath & Beyond!), and it was perfect - perfect size, perfect theme, perfect colors!

Just a snap of behind the door to showcase the two colors.
Until we replace the sink, I dragged this little table in to hold our guest towels!
Now, if only we could get our contractor to finish the tile in our master bath, we could finish painting and decorating in there!
