Spring has Sprung

If you haven't noticed, the husband has been conspicuously quiet on the blog-front here lately. In his defense, he has been working a crazy, insane amount of hours for the past two weeks. While he normally works 12-hour shifts in an ongoing pattern of 3 days on, 2 days off, he has been working those same 12-hour shifts every day for the past two weeks! Bless his heart! So, we beg your forgiveness, but I feel certain he will have loads to share with you here shortly.

While he has been working like a madman, Lucy and I have been enjoying lots of long walks on some really beautiful days. I know some people get cabin fever in the winter months, but I fall victim to it in the warmer months. In the winter, I just want to stay inside, where it is warm. Depending on the severity of the coldness (mind you, I have a very low tolerance), I may want nothing more than a mug of hot cocoa and a fluffy blanket (Lucy tends to like this as well). But, when the mercury rises above 70, I just cannot stand to be cooped up inside all day. The fresh air and sunshine is invigorating. Lucy enjoys all the smells and watching nature unfold right in front of her (this usually entails chasing squirrels, searching for the source of birds chirping in trees, and nibbling on the occasional grass blade).

We are so excited that Spring is finally here! Good riddance Old Man Winter (I am sure I will beg your forgiveness after 6 months of 100 degrees, but for now, I bid you adieu).
