Spruce Up Your Spring Fashion!

I think I can finally say, with full confidence, that Spring is here! I feel like this great United States collectively waited much longer for this Spring than we have for others in the past. Winter was relentless this year, and I am more than ready to bid it adieu!

With the arrival of Spring, it is clearly time to invest in a few new wardrobe pieces to commemorate the warm sunshine we have all been waiting for! I already did a bit of shopping back in February (when I was trying to will Spring into existence), but there are a few other things I have my eye on! I really love shopping, even if I am not buying anything new at the moment. I like seeing the trends, finding my own classic pieces, and then waiting for the right moment to pounce. Luckily for me, my husband supports my shopping habits; and luckily for him, I am a pretty rational, thoughtful shopper (for clothes and everything else, I think!). Here are a few of my current fave Spring pieces and looks!

I don't know if it gets more perfectly me! A little French and a bright red skirt! I want this whole outfit so much it hurts! I found this on Pinterest, but the link was expired, so I am not too sure where I can find the outfit. I am sure I could probably piece it together if I tried hard enough!

I would probably wear this adorable printed dress on a daily basis! It is super cute, and has got to be comfy! I also found this on Pinterest with an expired link, so if anyone knows where I can find it, let me know!

I really love the high-waisted bikini trend, and I am loving all the fun prints available at Asos! I really like all the fun colors of the fruit print on this one, in particular, but there are plenty of options to choose from.

I just ordered this fun dress from Lilly Pulitzer, and couldn't be more excited for it to get here! I have always loved the fun prints of a Lilly, and am absolutely enamored with this fun mermaid print! I think this will be the perfect casual spring/summer dress!

I bought these bright ankle skinnies back in February, and they are my favorite pant this spring! My favorite thing to pair with them is a dark chambray button down, but they are very versatile. This was the first year that I have found some clothes I absolutely love in the women's section at Land's End!

Any new favorite Spring finds I should know about?

Frozen. Not the Disney Version.

Like much of the great United States, Lucy and I are doing our very best to stay bundled up and warm on this coldest day, thus far, of 2014. Granted, we have it a lot better than many others parts of the country (looking at you Midwest and Northeast!), but it is freaking cold here! We woke up this morning to 15 degrees, which felt like -1. Lucy has nested herself under blankets, and I have actually been running the heat all day! Poor Harris had to go to work this morning, but, fortunately, I was able to drive him so he didn't have to brave frostbite on a walk over to the office. Christmas is over, and, thereby, in my opinion, winter should be as well. Move along, Old Man, move along.

In other news, going back to work yesterday was brutal! After my self-imposed adult college break (which was sooooo nice! I got so much stuff done!), motivation to sort through emails and such was hard to come by. I am also working to coordinate all of my travel for the upcoming month, and nothing could be further from what I would like to be doing than that, let me tell you! Overall, it was the Mondayest of Mondays that there possibly ever was.

Harris and I ordered Rosetta Stone - Spanish as a late Christmas/we-like-to-learn-languages present to ourselves. We got like 50% off, so I feel like, why would you ever buy it for full price when the possibility of getting it for 50% off exists? (Side note: Why buy anything for full price when you can almost always find promo codes online?). The goal here is that the next time we go to Mexico, the locals will think Harris is Mexican not just because of his awesome tan, but also because of his fluency in the language :). And I will just be the white girl who speaks Spanish extremely well. What we have learned so far: Los hombres bebe. La nina nada. So on and so forth. I don't remember what being a child and learning English felt like, but surely this must be it! Ha. Although, I will say, I do kind of miss verb conjugation - I rocked verb conjugation in French! Clearly, you can make verb conjugation child-like, as well - Please to sing to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star: je suis, tu es, il/elle est, nous sommes, vous etes, ils/elles sont. You just conjugated your first French verb, and you did it in a child-like way - thank me later. Rosetta Stone, watch out. I might find my own formula for success here.
