Dear Little Girl,
Yesterday was Christmas, little one, and it was a very good Christmas for your Daddy, Lucy, and me. While you were hanging out in Mommy's belly this year, we couldn't help but be excited about all of our Christmas traditions, and moreso, thinking about sharing them with you beginning next year! Grammy & Duke got us a video camera, and we started using it to document some of this Christmas for you! On Christmas Eve, we went to our annual showing of A Christmas Carol, drank eggnog hot chocolate, and then headed to a candlelight service at church. Although it poured down rain most of the day, it couldn't have been a lovelier or happier day. You seemed to enjoy everything as well, especially all the music, I think, because you were having a wild party most of the day! Christmas morning we got up, opened stockings from Santa and presents, and spent the day enjoying our time together, and our the new goodies we gave each other and received from the rest of the family.
I knew the holidays would fly by because the inevitably always do, but it feels like the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas was even shorter this year, and I can't believe that your due date is in less than 7 weeks now! You are still moving a ton, and I am starting to be able to pinpoint certain body parts' location, especially your little legs! Heartburn has still been acting up a bit this week, but not as much, thankfully. No crazy cravings or anything to report on, and still trying to stay as active as I can. My belly continues to get bigger and bigger (sometimes, seemingly overnight!), and I just love it knowing that you are continuing to grow and are getting ready for your world debut.
Your nursery is really starting to come together too! After getting your crib last weekend, and getting it set up, we got your mattress, and I put bedding on it, and it is really starting to look like a little girl's space in there! We still need to put together our glider, get our changing table, and put up shelves for your dozens and dozens of books, but it is so exciting to see this vision we had come to life!
Next week will mark the end of 2014, and then it really will be almost time for you to be here! We are so excited, little one, and we love you so much!
Love,
Mommy
