Letters to Baby: 28 Weeks

Dear Little Girl,

You know, I feel like the people who come up with your random fruit/veggie comparative for the  week are getting lazy. Haven't we already called you an eggplant? Maybe not, maybe all those fruits and veggies are just running together, but I swear they don't do much in terms of helping me visualize how big you are right now. I think I typically think of you being bigger than you probably are, but I'm your Mommy so I have that right :)

According to them, you are about 2-2.5 pounds right now and roughly 14-16 inches long. Still not incredibly helpful, I know, but at least it's something to go on!  I am so excited to see you in our 3D ultrasound in a couple weeks, and also get another real idea of how big you have gotten! You still haven't run out of room, and are continuing to keep me guessing as to where you will kick/punch me next! It's a fun game! It's even more fun because, a lot of times, if I give you a little nudge, you will respond with one of your own! I love it!

We had out 28-week midwife appointment earlier this week, and, according to her, we are still measuring right on schedule. As always, it was so sweet to hear your little heartbeat galloping along. Crazy of craziness - we are now on the 2-week appointment schedule! So, instead of visiting our midwife every 4 weeks, we will now see her every 2 weeks for the next month and a half! Then on to weekly visits before your big debut!

Last weekend, we had our second baby shower hosted by Grammy & Duke. This was a couple's baby shower, and filled with family and friends - both boys and girls! I still need to do a couple of posts about the baby showers themselves, but your Grammy went all out for you! Luckily, she chose to do the shower in a pink, white, and blue nautical theme, so I was able to snag quite a few shower decorations to use as nursery decorations for you!

On our way home on Sunday, we stopped in Charlotte to visit Aunt Erica, Uncle Michael, and your future BFF, Ellie! Oh, little one, I cannot tell you how special it is to hold the baby of your lifelong best friend! I teared up as soon as I got her in my arms, and I cannot wait for y'all to meet next year!

This weekend will be our last weekend before peak season starts for Daddy. While he is usually pretty busy with work, this is his exceptionally busy time. This weekend we are going to try and get in as many fun things as we can, and then get ready for Thanksgiving!

Keep on doing what your doing, little one, and know that I love you so much!

Love,
Mommy
