Dear Little Girl,
This week has been such a good one! First of all, your baby shower last weekend was absolutely amazing! I am going to write up a separate blog post about it next week, since I now have loads and loads of good pictures, but you should know that your Mimi, Aunt Kay, and Aunt Moe truly outdid themselves! It was more than I could have possibly imagined it being, and, little girl, you are already so very, very loved by so many people! It made this Mommy's heart almost burst with joy to see how many people are already so in love with you.
Since we were down in North Carolina for the shower, your Daddy took a couple days off work, and we spent an extra day or so in Ocean Isle just enjoying the autumn beach. It was so refreshing for both of us, especially Daddy who has been working so hard lately. We had so much fun with family and friends alike, and it was really the perfect start to the week. OIB is a special place for us, little one - it's where Mommy & Daddy fell in love. I am sure you will get to know it pretty well in the coming years.
While you were still a little shy about letting other people feel you kick last weekend (maybe shy is the wrong word - really it was like you just wanted to push people to their breaking point of patience before you would finally give in and give them a good kick!), you have been really responsive to Daddy these days, which makes both of us incredibly happy! You will kick up a storm when he is talking or reading to you, and stop if he pauses or stops, and his face just lights up with wonder and joy. It is the cutest and sweetest thing!
Mommy's sweet tooth is still hanging on, and possibly getting stronger! Maybe that just means you will be even sweeter than we anticipate :) I have also been on a sandwich kick this week, and don't see that tapering off anytime soon. Nothing fancy, just grilled (or toasted) turkey and cheese is really all it takes to make me happy.
I cannot believe this is our last week in the second trimester! I know I comment on it often, but I really cannot believe how quickly the time is flying by! We had our first childbirth class this week, which was fun, funny, and had some good information. It is crazy to think that we will be putting these newly learned practices to use in just a few short months.
We love you so much, little one! Keep growing stronger and bigger for us, and entertaining us with your dance moves while you still have room to wiggle!
Love,
Mommy
